Author Guidelines

Law students pursuing the three-year LL.B. as well as the five-year integrated LL.B. programme, students pursuing LL.M. or Ph.D., research associates, academicians, educators, and professionals and practitioners in any field of law are eligible to submit.

Any topic related to law.

The following word limits include footnotes and should be adhered to. The journal may be flexible on the word limit depending on the quality of the article.

   Short Articles

   1,500–2,500 words, including footnotes

2. 2

   Long Articles

   2,500–4,000 words, including footnotes

3. 3

   Research Papers

   2,000–8,000 words, including footnotes

4. 4

   Book Reviews

   1,000–3,500 words, including footnotes

5. 5

   Case Comments

   1,000–2,500 words, including footnotes

6. 6

   Legislative Comments

   1,000–2,500 words, including footnotes

Long articles, short articles and research papers must be accompanied by an abstract not exceeding 300 words.

Up to 2 co-authors are allowed for all categories, except Case Comments and Legislative Comments, wherein co-authorship is not permitted.

• File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx). PDF, other formats, and hard-copy submissions will not be accepted.
• The first page should contain the name of the paper, the name of the authors, and their institutional affiliation, followed by a 300-word abstract.
• The second page should commence with the main body of the manuscript.
• The name of the authors and their institutional affiliation must be mentioned in the manuscript.
• Main body: Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5 line spacing.
• Footnotes: Times New Roman, font size 10, 1.0 line spacing.
• All headings must have uniform formatting.

Texts and footnotes should conform to the Bluebook 20th Edition.

• The academic year of the course pursuing (if applicable)
• Qualifications (if applicable)
• Institutional affiliation
• Title of the paper
• The type of submission (Long Article, Essay/Short Article, Case Comment, or Legislative Comment)

All submissions must be emailed to submissions.ijlj@gmail.com, with the subject as “Manuscript Submission” and a declaration to the effect that the manuscript is an original and previously unpublished work of the author/s.
