Peer Review Policy

How Indian Journal of Law and Jurisprudence reviews unsolicited manuscripts.

All unsolicited manuscripts submitted to be considered for publication in Indian Journal of Law and Jurisprudence are subject to an editorial review process.

Review parameters

Submitted manuscripts are reviewed on the following parameters:

  • Relevance
  • Structure
  • Content
  • Language
  • Originality
  • Coherence
  • Cited sources

Editorial and referee review

  • Once the manuscript is accepted for publication, it is assigned for editorial review by the Editorial Board. The first step is a reading of the article to confirm sufficient quality and adherence to citation guidelines.
  • If the article passes this stage, it is sent to a referee to review based on academic level and content.
  • The executive editor contacts the author about the results of this review and sends comments or suggestions.
  • If the article is accepted, the author is asked to make the changes suggested by the editors, with an agreed deadline for the improved version.
  • The editorial board then reads the article closely for style, form, content, and language use. After the author's approval of the final version, the article is published.

No guarantee of acceptance

Indian Journal of Law and Jurisprudence (IJLJ) reserves the right to reject any paper at any stage of the publication process. This is the complete discretion of the editorial board, and authors have no right to object to the reason behind such a decision. Payment of any fee never influences, and never guarantees, an editorial decision.

Appeals

Authors may write to editorinchief.ijlj@gmail.com stating academic grounds for reconsideration. Appeals are handled under the Complaints and Appeals Policy on the Publication Ethics page.
